Unusual flow in the option chain. How it works.
The Options Activity scanner ranks the most active names by total options volume. The primary signals are the sentiment (BULL/BEAR/NEUT), the P/C Ratio, and the IV Rank. Together these metrics reveal what institutional options traders are positioning for ahead of earnings, events, or directional moves.
The P/C Ratio (Put/Call ratio) measures the balance between put and call volume. A ratio below 0.5 is strongly bullish — significantly more calls than puts are trading, which typically indicates institutional accumulation or directional call buying. A ratio above 1.0 is bearish — puts are dominant, which can indicate hedging or outright bearish positioning. A ratio between 0.5 and 1.0 is neutral.
The IV Rank shows where current implied volatility sits relative to its range over the past year, from 0% to 100%. A high IV Rank means the market is pricing in larger expected moves — often ahead of earnings or major catalysts — while a low IV Rank signals calmer expectations.
