The Smart Money Scanner identifies stocks where institutional investors are quietly accumulating positions — combining price action above the 50-day moving average, RSI momentum, elevated volume and earnings surprises into a single composite score.
Open Smart Money Scanner → Full GuideThe scanner monitors a curated universe of high-quality US equities and scores each one across four independent signals. The goal is to find stocks that institutions are actively accumulating — before the move becomes obvious to everyone else.
Each stock receives a composite score from 0 to 100 based on how many signals it satisfies simultaneously. A stock scoring 75 or above is exhibiting classic institutional accumulation behaviour across multiple independent dimensions, and a perfect 100 satisfies every signal at once.
The Smart Money Scanner is best used as a confirmation tool. If a stock appears on the Momentum Scanner or the 52-Week Breakout scanner and also scores highly here, that convergence is a powerful signal — price action and fundamentals are aligned with institutional activity.
Stocks consistently appearing at the top of this scan are the ones institutions are quietly building positions in. These are candidates for your core watchlist — not necessarily for immediate entry, but for tracking closely as they set up technically.
Smart Money tracks institutional accumulation — hedge funds, mutual funds, pension funds. This is different from the Insider Trades scanner, which tracks buying and selling by company executives and directors. Both are valuable signals, but they measure different things. An institutional accumulation signal combined with insider buying is one of the strongest possible confluences.
