The Momentum Scanner shows you which stocks are leading the market right now. Updated continuously during the session, it ranks equities by price performance across multiple timeframes — giving you a real-time view of where the institutional money is flowing.
Open Momentum Scanner → Full GuideThe Momentum Scanner pulls performance data across three timeframes: 1-day, 5-day, and 1-month. This multi-period view is important because a stock that is strong today but has been weak for the past month is a very different animal than one that has been consistently leading for weeks.
The scan covers the full universe of U.S. equities above a minimum price and volume threshold, excluding low-quality names that would otherwise pollute the results.
The primary use of the Momentum Scanner is watchlist building. Run it in the morning to identify the stocks the market is currently rewarding most aggressively. Add the best charts to your watchlist and monitor them for pullback entries or continuation setups through the session.
It is also useful for monitoring existing positions. If a stock you own consistently appears at the top of the scanner, that is a confirmation that the trend is intact. If it drops off the scan, that may signal weakening momentum worth watching.
The two tools serve different purposes. The Momentum Burst scanner is about timing — it finds stocks at the beginning of a new burst move. The Momentum Scanner is about context — it tells you which stocks have been the market's leaders over a longer period.
The most powerful setups tend to appear in both: a stock that has been a consistent momentum leader and then experiences a new burst breakout is a high-quality candidate from two independent angles.
